For the past while whales have been showing up in the paintings that are emerging in my studio. There’s no doubt in my mind that what shows up in the art is also showing me more of Life.
In my past years when I wasn’t painting and was working as a holistic healer, I came to learn many things about the powerful essence of whales who symbolise great wisdom, emotional depth and ancient connection to unconscious streams. When whale shows us we can trust that:
Depths of emotional healing beyond the limits of this lifetime and what the eyes can see is taking place now. This is especially felt in the communicative abilities of whale songs which deepen creative expression that spans distances to connect to true soul family.
Heightened intuition can be expected as these keepers of ancient knowing transmit their vast wisdom and spirit-filled insight directly to us while providing strong protection for safe passage into new waters reflective of our growth.
Peace in solitude and full acceptance of one’s whole journey and one’s own voice, recognizing that all of the ocean has brought the pre-chosen challenges - found both in rough waves and silent aloneness - to transform through the darkest shadowy waters into the lightest bubbly seas. All of it vital, valuable and necessary. All waters included and honoured as they were/are.
When this particular whale painting showed up from a quick digital design I created (which you can see in the ‘messy middle’ stages video just above) she came in very dark and shadowy. As I blocked in her main shapes and form, I shyly asked her for her name and immediately received the words “Freedom to Explore”.
I took that as an invitation to do exactly this - explore freedom - in the art and right away recognized I was invited to to this in the wider waters of my life.
At the start of this New Year, I had just begun learning about the Gene Keys as I joined in with a precious ‘pod’ of like hearted deep-diving souls. I have been learning more of how all of us come into form flowing in life’s waters with our various unique shadows - challenges born of karma or trauma which we can contemplate to allow for our genetic evolution - and our unique corresponding gifts - which our accepted and honoured shadows unfold organically into for transmutation.
How gorgeous this week to uncover that one of my core gene keys unfolds into the gift of FREEDOM! Yup, and before I even knew that, this whale painting came through with that very message!
See how deep these unconscious waters flow? But there’s no way to understand the gift of freedom without first understanding the shadow that sits in the deep waters along with it.
Learning more, I discovered that as a collective race we are swimming through the evolution of this Gene Key #55 paddling through the shadows of victimization.
Victimisation is the tendency to look outwardly for the cause of rough waters in our life. We carry the unconscious conditioning that if I’m not struggling against something then I don’t exist. This is how we become addicted to dramas and traumas - all to feel the aliveness and to get the validation (ex. “Poor Corry, that’s so awful what happened!").
As I learned this it made so much sense both on a micro/personal and macro/collective/planetary scale (I mean, just lean into the “woke movement” for this). Once this shadow of victimisation is seen and allowed, it becomes a helpful guide as we can clearly see that at the root of ALL of our shadows ultimately sits this “them not me/distancing” victim story.
Richard Rudd, known for his work in the field of human consciousness and the founder of the 64 Gene Keys speaks these words below of the gift - the gift of freedom - that evolves from contemplation of what the struggle that the victim shadow opens up in each soul.

Exploring all of this through my contemplations and quietude, both in and out of my studio, while being guided by ancient whale energy has brought so much more understanding into the all the myriad waters I have flowed through and softens my whole being as I flow onward still.
May we all rediscover our natural freedom to explore. Allowing all the waters of our journey to rush in as they do to widen our awareness into full clarity, as Richard shares, “into a brighter future for all” indeed!
