Hello Creative Soul,
Sharing with you the 10 smaller artworks and their meanings which came through me during production week where I create a product line in my unique voice in a short span of time. The intention was to honour the core symbols that have deep meaning for me.
Interestingly as I painted these symbols they revealed more information to me. I knew I was attracted to them and now I know why unequivocally.
I also loved working small for this period, especially after the big whale pieces that have been coming through.
Here’s what these symbols mean for me. I am very curious what they mean for you.
The keys are symbols that speak to accessing my unique gifts deep inside - born of my sensitivity. Gifts like my psychic sight, my sense of humour, my creativity, my healing abilities and my childlike curious heart.
The feathers speak to the choice to fully allow the necessary drifting apart from my original starting point in order to find a much lighter and healthier way of being. Just as a feather starts joined to a bird it becomes its own object and has its own journey when it falls away. Also, as a medium, I see very tiny feathers when there’s a spirit near me with a message for a loved one.
The vessels connect me with the many years my husband and over the years, our children too, grew up in Japan. We were deeply touched by the culture and I fell in love with the pottery. I feel vessels are a metaphor for our ability to create boundaries and to choose when to open wide and when to contain. I learned containment from Japanese culture and how powerfully silence speaks. This helped me immensely with boundaries.
With these three vessel paintings, played with a polaroid photo idea. I enjoyed the ‘boundary effect’ it gave and how it allowed me to add the words of intention underneath each vessel to deepen the meaning. Perhaps I’ll play with that more in the future. Curious what you might think. Does it enhance the image or detract? What’s your sense?
I’ve just realised I didn’t mention the various numbers tucked in each of these pieces. Numerology and genetic coding fascinate me when I consider how vastly different each human being is and how our unique connection to numbers reveals much about our various challenges and gifting in this play of life.
And that brings me to the final symbol which is the dragonfly. These precious ones begin as nymphs with no idea that they will completely leave their starting point of water and follow an inner impulse to scramble up a stalk so they can ultimately transform one day into a brilliant flying creature, able to shift direction and adapt effortlessly while in flight.
Dragonflies have eyes that are able to see in every direction simultaneously. Incredible sight, beyond what normal eyes could see. These creatures speak to our limitlessness and ability to transform our density into radiance and light. Plus these little guys eat mosquitoes. How can I not love them?

Speaking of metaphors and symbols, as you likely know, we are now galloping along in the year of the Fire Horse. A few things this year could mean for you include-
* Intensity
* Movement
* Transformation
* Speed and Passion
* Innovation and change
* Intentional new direction
* Breakthrough moments
With all this momentum, the fire horse doesn’t ask you to slow down, however, it asks you to move wisely. As you take bold action, do so in healthy balance and with a grounded and calm nervous system. This special year isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing what truly matters. This is not a year of chaos, rather, it asks us to attune deeply to our innermost Self so that when action is to be taken, it’s aligned and done with an ease and flow.
To celebrate this special year I created a classic tote bag based upon a gestural line drawing I did last year of a horse. I had no idea that 2026 would be focused upon this amazing animal, I just have always loved the sensitivity and power of horses. Those seemingly opposite traits all wrapped up into this magnificent being.

The words that we surround ourselves with, including those on our clothes or the bags or books we carry with us, have a very strong impact on our energy field - either positively or negatively. If that got you curious, I highly recommend exploring the work and books of the late Japanese scientist Masuro Emoto to learn more and literally see photos of the molecular structure of water set next to various words. Water being the element that we are primarily composed of as humans, his work reveals a clue how to support shifts for enlivening energy.

Simply by asking yourself any question you happen to be chewing on at the moment, you unlock the part of you that knows the answer. In that quiet centre of you, it will always come through.
