A Lil' Bit on Grit...
Inspired by the rough textured under-layer of my painting. As in the art, so with the heart.
It’s truly when we pass through the squeezes and scrapes of life that we get the opportunity to use and work with such moments to get gritty.
When we develop the ability to see that things are not happening to us, rather, for us to uncover more of who we are by standing upright in the storm, our innate strength and powerful ability to come back to our senses and move in our power returns.
Not only is our heightened sensitivity part of our resilience gift, it’s also a superpower so that we don’t rinse and repeat painful past experiences. Another name for it could be discernment, that brilliant pearl born out of friction.
Why on Earth does keeping our felt-sense-ability wide open, in spite of how bumpy and painful life’s roads can often be, truly matter?
Well, there’s many things I could lay at your feet towards answering that now, but I want get to the grit of it here…

We didn’t come here to live a hurried or numbed out survival-mode life. We came here to uncover another way to work with the rough stuff. To live an embodied-sensorial-rich-beauty-FULL life.
A life where all we came to experience is felt deeply, moment by moment. We are sensory beings who came to this game as spirit tucked into human form to feel into the experience- that’s the whole point!
Every time I channel a spirit during a psychic medium reading I’m reminded of this when they express how grateful they are to experience XYZ through their loved ones here on earth. Spirits are often encouraging their loved ones to “live life fully” because now that they are passed and have left their sensorial rich bodies, they recognize how unique this experience is we’re having.
The minute we stop choosing the victim role to our circumstances and recognise that the grit born from our struggles grows our incredible intuitive discerning ability we are free. Free to discern very well what is the highest choice that lights me up fully with ease right now. This naturally unfolds into a much smoother way of being.
I wonder what pearls of sensitivity deepened in you due to your unique 4x4’ing journey to bring more of your intuitive wisdom out of you? I honour you for looking beyond the surface while navigating any rough rides you’ve experienced and for elevating your vision despite the inevitable bruises and scars.
That’s a high choice and I thank you for making it in our intensely changeful world today- every vibrational choice matters greatly, dear gritty one. So go easy on your precious Self as you keep your big heart tender in the knowing that everything is happening for you as you heal, grow and feel into and through your days.

A key painting, and some key insights! 🔑👍
This resonates, Corry. I appreciate how you related the grit in your painting to that in our lives. I have developed a system for incorporating images into my writing toolkit. I'm not necessarily writing about the images, but using them as touchstones for what is meaningful in my life, usually over time.
